Peter Saunders

Peter Saunders is head of social research at the Centre for Independent Studies in Sydney. Before that he was Research Manager at the Australian Institute of Family Studies, and he taught for many years at the University of Sussex in England where he was Professor of Sociology. He has written extensively on issues of class inequality, privatization, home ownership, poverty and welfare reform.

In August 2004, Duffy & Snellgrove will publish his book Australia's Welfare Habit.
