John Toohey

John Toohey is a photographer, historian, documentary filmmaker and journalist. He has previously been shortlisted for the prestigious Vogel Prize.

He has a particular interest in the history of exploration and discovery, and undertook his honours degree in Renaissance Cartography.

He has written the non-fiction narrative about what happened to Bligh after he was thrown off the Bounty, Captain Bligh's Portable Nightmare, and Quiros, a fiction about belief and exploration based on the life of the 17th century explorer, Quiros.
