When the famed explorer Quiros comes
to Peru asking for volunteers to accompany him across the Pacific and
off the edge of the known world, the men line up, dreaming of citites
of gold, beautiful women and glory. Out at sea, surrounded by nothing
but the wind and their own fears, they are not so sure. As their captain
becomes madder and more driven the sailors
are forced to confront the possibility that the dream that Quiros has
provided may be replaced by something much more ominous. Or even worse,
by nothing at all.
A fascinating narrative in the tradition of The Passion about
the power of hope and faith to inspire and destroy.
